ACCOMMODATION - safari park tented camp

Camping out in the bush, surrounded by wildlife, the crackling of the firewood in front of you, sounds like the perfect getaway…
 
Here at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre we offer just that!
 
We have four tents situated in the middle of the bush (with a variety of general plains game) which accommodate 2 people each.  There is no electricity - we make use of paraffin lanterns, and stoke a fire for hot water.

 
The sparkling lanterns which glitter like fireflies in the dark, lend themselves to a relaxed and authentic African bushveld atmosphere. 
 
A bundle of firewood and a bag of ice is provided once a day. Additional ice costs R15.00 per bag, and extra wood R30.00 per bundle.  An additional mattress can also be arranged for R50.00 per mattress.

Tents are supplied with linen, towels, toilet paper, cooler box and lanterns.
 
Bathrooms are available, and cutlery can be hired at R100.00 per day (including knifes, forks, spoons, teaspoons, plates, bowls, cups, glasses and a coffee pot).
 
The following food may also be arranged on request:
 
~          Greek salad – R28.00 per person
~          “Braaibroodjies” – R18.00 per person (Bread with onion, tomato and cheese)
~          “Braai” packs – R70.00 each (including 'boerewors' - a traditional South African sausage - steak and lamp chop).
 
Food must be ordered a day or two in advance. 

Breakfast may be enjoyed at the HESC tea-garden (for the visitor's account).

Gates open at 06:00 and close at 17:00 daily.

Check in is at 14h00, and check out is at 10h00.
 
Guests are able to enjoy a game drive on the magnificent Kapama Game Reserve.
